MATCH BETWEEN ROTORUA AND TE AROHA CLUBS CONCLUDED TWO GAMES FOR ADJUDICATION j The telegraphic match between j teams from the Rotorua and Te 1 Aroha Chess Clubs was resumed on Saturday eve-ning. Play was concluded at twelve boards, the points scored being, Rotorua 6i, Te Aroha 5£. At boards No. 1 and No. 2 Te Aroha suggested adjudication, and the result may possibly be a draw in the aggregate. This is the utmost the Te Aroha team may obtain from adjudication. It was agreed that Mr. F. K. Kelling, of Wellington, should arbitrate, and the positions have accordingly been submitted hy the secretary, Mr. A. W. Shaw, for Mr. Kelling's decision. Following are details of the play, Rotorua players being mentioned first : — McCarthy v. Kenrich (capt.) submitted for adjudication; Andrews v. Burton, submitted for adjudication; Booth (capt.) 0 v. Gibbs, 0; Burton, 1 v. McLeod, 0; Erdman 1, v. Boswell, 0; Downer, 0 v. Scott, 1; Ninall, 1 v. Dive, 0. I Mr. W. L. Richards acted as umpire and was assisted by Messrs. Butler, Miller, Musgrave and Wain. Mr. W. Smith transmitted the moves to Te Aroha.
