By Telephone-
RUGBY, Monday. The Portsmouth and Devonport manned ships of the Atlantic Fleet reached their home ports this morning from Invergordon and several vessels arrived in Sheerness yestexday. There is not the slightest sign of any departure from the normal routine. The Sheerness men were yesterday given shore leave and the usual week-end leave was granted to-day. The ratings seem happy and contended and Press messages say that in conversation they expressed themselves as well satisfied with the Admiralty's promise to investigate cases of hardship arising out of the pay cuts. Instructions are being issued to the Commanding Officers of ships and naval establishments ashore to forward to the Commanders-in-Chief of their home ports, details of typical cases involving exceptional hardship, and to communicate the names of ratings whose oral evidence will be of value, and who are prepared to furnish evidence it required. Such ratings will be given assistance. of officers in pntting their cases.
