MANY PRAYERS DEFEAT .. THE COLONEL ECLECTIC HANDICAP EVENT The Rotorua Golf Club's Eclectie handicap event, was concluded on the Arikikapakapa Golf Course on Saturday in perfect golfing weather. There were a number of good cards returned, in several cases the players breaking their handicap. On combining the scores of the two rounds the majority of the contestants defeated bogey and 77 could be considered as decidedly poor when compared with the - number below that figure. The best combined scores were returned by Dr. W. S. Wallis who, with a handicap of 10 and a gross score of 71 returned the very creditable net total of 61. Following are the best combined scores returned: — Dr. W. S. Wallis, 71-10-61; C. Kusabs, 68-4-64; P. Kus°abs, 75-10-65; D. George. 75-10-65; H. Hamilton, 82-17-65; McElroy, 85-20-65; W. Downer, 81-15-66; C. Worthington, 76-10-66.
