FALL IN GYM.

YOUNG MAN FRACTURES SPINE AND DIES IN HOSPITAL HAMILTON, Friday. A distressing fatality occurred at the Hamilton Y.M.C.A. on Thursday, when Frederick George Thomas, aged 24 years, son of Mr. F. W. Thomas of Rotokauri, met his death through a heavy fall. Mr. Thomas was participating in physical exercises in connection .with the gymnastic elass and was vaulting a horse in the gymnasium when he fell heavily on the floor, striking the back of his head. It was at first thought that he was merely stunned but a medieal examination showed that he had sustained a fractured spine. He died in the Waikato Hospital an hour after admission.
