DISTURBANCE AT PARLIAMENT HOUSE WHILE MINISTER SEES DEPUTATION THREE MEN ARRESTED

WELLINGTON, Wednesday. There was a clash between members of the National Workers' Unemployment Union and the police in the g'rounds of Parliament Buildings this morning. The police were armed with batons, and blows were freely exchanged. culminating in the arrest of three men. The Minister of Labour had decided to receive a deputation of delegates from the New Zealand Alliance . of Labour, the Labourers' Union, the Seamen's Union antl the Unemployed Workers' Union. Only delegates were allowed inside the gates to enter the building and ?ee the Minister but subsequently members of a procession wnich paraded through the city were allowed in the grounds, on condition that no speeches were made from the steps. One of the men stood on a soapbox and addressed the crowd. The police endeavoured to reach him, and one constable was struck. Then a row commenced which resulted in three arrests.
