WELLINGTON WIN

WELLINGTON, Saturday. An azure sky and bright sunshine, Wellington's best spring weather, a pleasant change after last week's rain, made conditions excellent for the match at Athletic Park between Wellington and Taranaki. It was the second meeting of the province3 this season, Wellington earlier in the season having defeated Taranaki at Hawera. Wellington had five players away at the Test match at Auckland. It was a close battle, Wellington finally winning by the narrow margin of 15-14.
