ON PARKING.
A gOod deal of practice is necessary \ when the automobile has occasion to j be manoeuvred in confined spaces. ■ When turning out of a street into a ■ j laneway or garage, and it is found j that the manoeuvre cannot be execut- 5 j ed on one lock, the car should be 1 j driven • well past the opening on the j first lock, reversed, and then driven j into the desired space. Unless the j opening is "overshot" at the first at- . j tempt, it will be found necessary to \ reverse perhaps two or three times , i before finally getting the car in its r j place. I j When it becomes necessary to park J a car ir_ any of the lcerbside ranks, one should never drive straight into any position unless a very generous , opening presents itself . It is always : the wisest plan to drive past the open- j ing, give the correct signal to oncoming vehicles, and then reverse into place. In parking at the kerbside when the road is steeply cambered, drivers of closed cars should keep out a little wider than is usual in order to prevent the canopy of the car from coming in coniact with the verandah posts.
