HONG KONG, Thursday. The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, the biggest British bank in the Orient, warns the public against an attempt to exploit new 100 dollar notes of 1929. Information has been received that a gang of forgers have been operating at -Peking and Tientsin with large bundles of forged notes, the total face value exceeding 200,000 dollars. It is believed that the notes emanated from Moscow.
