MURUPARA THEFT
MAN IS QUESTIONED BY POLICE BUT CLEARS HIMSELF INVESTIGATION CONTINUES Although a man was brought into the Rotorua Police station yesterday and interrogated in regard to the burglary of the Public Works payroll at Murupara camp on May 4, he succeeded in satisfying the police investigating the case-, that he was in no way implicated in the theft of the money. \ «v Detective-Sergeant Thompson, of Hamilton and the Rotorua police are still . caref ully investigating the matter. It is learned that a number of the pay envelopes in the hox when it was found had been 'burst open by the action of the weather, but the police are reluetant to disclose what amount • of money is actually still missing.
