LAD BURNED TO DEATH. Trapped beneath a motor coach in a blazing garage, Alfred John Vine', 19, of Romford, was burned to death. William George Godsave, 20, of Stapleford Abbots, made a gallant effort to save Vine at the risk of his own life', and was severely burned. The two lads wer,e cleaning a coach when there was an explosion. Vine was trapped in an inspection pit, which speedily becam'e a well of flame. Godsave tried time and again to hau! Vine out. Not until he was badly burned and almost unconscious did he^ give up.
