CLUB DEFEATED FOR FIRST TIME IN CHALLENGE MATCH ex-soldiers' high score The Rotorua Returned Soldfers' Association rifle team fired a match against the Arawa Rifle Club No. 1 team on the miniature rifle range in the Drill Hall, last evening, and defeated the club by a margin of 22 points. This is the first time this season that the Arawa Club has been beaten in a challenge match, which demonstrates the improvement in the R.S.A. team since it first entered a 1 challenge. For the R.S.A., S. Walker put up the very fine score of' 180, while for Arawa, W Donaldson led with 176. Each team registered its highest average in a challenge match to date, the figures being R.S.A. 159.1 per rifle and Arawa, 157.4. Details of the scores are as follows, possibles in both deliberate and rapid being 100: —
