PREMIER BENEFITS
MR. MACDONALD IN SCOTLAND. RUGBY, Monday. The Prime Minister, Mr' Ramsay MacDonald, during his week-end in Scotland, enjoyed and benefited from the brief change of scene and air, but he was by no means free from the cares of office. He was frequently in telephonic communication with Downing Street, and spent a part of Sunday in drafting his reply to the local Labour Party executive in his constituency, Seaham Harbour. Mr MacDonald has been deluged with letters from people of all classes, enthusiastically praising him for the course. he has adopted during the last f ew weeks. He has been particularly touched by the many letters from the -unemployed, and Socialists, who have grown up in the mov-ement, who express a desire to play their part on behalf of the nation. Commenting on these letters, which he says have greatly encouraged him in his determination to carry through his tasks as head of the National Government, Mr. MacDonald said: "The spirit of sacrifice in a)l groups of the community is moving the nation/ and it is vei-y heartening to those of us who have undertaken this task. We hope to see it through. I may have to give up many things, but we are going to carry out this task to the end-"
