COUNTRY DANCE
LABOUR PARTY SUPPORTERS PROMOTE SOCIAL EVENING. 0 " A most enjoyable' dance, promoted by supporters of the Labour Party, was held in the Te Whaiti Hall on Saturday evening. The Murupara committee was mainly responsible for the gathering, and their chairman (Mr. E. Keeley) acted as M.C. and general manager of the proceedings. Visitors were present from settlements 15 to 20 miles distant, and the dancing was kept merrily going by a bright Maori orchestra which earned well-merited praise. The hall has an exceptionally good fioor, which will compare favourably with anything available in much bigger centres. „An appetising supper, songs, Maori hakas and competitions helped to fill up the measure of a really soeiable evening. During the supper adjournment, Mr. H. Alexander, secretary of the Rotorua Labour Representation Committee, briefiy addressed the gathering an matters affecting the interests of the party.
