CARE OF TYRES. It has been generally estimated that millions of pounds in tyre service are lost to car owners every Year through improper tyre. usage, neglect and abuse, says a tyre expert in the Goodyear News. Manufacturers agree that this mis-use is not deliberate or intentional, * but results from lack of knowledge of proper tyre care. The following simple rules have been drawn up by the Rubber Manfacturers Association, Inc., in the interests of tyre users, to promote a better understanding and observance of the precautions necessary to obtain long wear from their tyres: (1) Maintain correct inflation pressure. (2) Avoid obstructions or holes in the roadway. (3). Keep wheels in correct alignment. (4) Have brakes properly equalised. (5) Straighten or clean bent or rusty rims.
