PRETENDING TO COMMIT SUICIDE.

By Telephone — 'Post" Special Service. WELLINGTON, Last Night. Shot in the face with a revolver with which he was playing, James j Prendagast, a school boy, of Petone, aged 15, suffered severe facial lacerations. Prendagast, who was playing with companions, had an old revolver, and was pretending to commit suicide. He put the weapon, which was loaded with a blank cartridge, a short distance from his face. When the blank charge was fired, he suffered severe lacerations within the region of the right eye and was sent to hospital.
