NOT DECIDED

("Post"

PARLIAMENTARY PROGRAMME. ADJOURNMENT MENTIONED.

Special Commissioner).

WELLINGTON, Thursday. It has been decided that to-mor-row the inter-party committee will meet in the morning only, leaving the afternoon free for the House to sit. It is expected that the second reading of the Licensing Poll Postponement Bill will then be proceeded with. The Prime Minister anticipates that the hearing of evidence by the committee will occupy the whole of riext week and it is likely that the rearrangement of the hours of sitting in the House of Representatives will be continued next week, the House meeting in the evening only, while the committe will sit during the day, though a decision has not yet been made on the point. It is anticipated that the question of adjourning the House will be again raised by Reform members, but Labour membei's will not budge from their previous hostility towards any such proposal. They point out that once Parliament adjourns, everything on the Legislative stocks will go by the board and that the only question likely to be considered on the resumption of the House will be those asscciated with the decisions of the in-ter-party cconference. Impoitant legislation pointed to as being worthy of early dispatch by the House includes the Trading Coupons Bill, the Transport Licensing Bill and local and private members measures.
