CLEARED UP
HIGH SCHOOL SPORT. The misunderstanding which developed recently between the Rotorua High School Board of Governors and the staff of the school in regard to pupils travelling for inter-sehool sports fixtures, has now been satisfactorily cleared up. At last evening's meeting of the Board, the headmaster, Mr. A. R. Ryder, stated that he wished to withcifra'w his statement which came before the special meeting convened to consider the matter on July 31. The Board unanimously passed the following resolution with which the headmaster expressed his complete satisfaction. "In view of "a misunderstanding that exists in the minds of the headmaster and his staff with regard to a resolution passed at the last ordinary meeting of this Board in reference to visiting sports teams during this period of depression, this meeting of the Board wishes to make it quite clear that the intention of the resolution was not mandatory, but was a recommendation to the headmaster from the Board for his consideration. The Board wishes at the same time to assure the headmaster of its continued confidence in him, and recognises that it has been his desire to further the interests of the pupils through such inter-school activities."
