RIFLE SHOOTING
R.S.Ar TEAMS MEET. Members of the Rotorua Returned Soldiers' Association met at the Drill Hall on Wednesday last to fire a practice match on the miniature rifle range. Some excellent scores were recorded, the average of the "A" team betag 152.4 per rifle, the possible being 200. The "B" team also registered Improved scoring, their average being 145 per rifle. Following are ithe scores : — "A" team: W. Bates, del. 89, rap. 82, total 171; H. Ham:lton, 74—55—129; W. J. Gillett, 81—65—146; J. Morland, 83—62—145; R, H. Reid, 86— 74—160; Walker, 86—83—169; L. Clarke, 75—72—147. Total 1067. "B" team: G. H. Weir, del. 83, rap. 72, total 15-5; L. N. Alexander, 84 — 58 —142; C. L. Knight, 78—75—153; H. Aubertin, 67 — 66 — 133; . R H. Jones, 74—62— 136; G. Yallop, 74—69—143; J. Brownlie, 82 — 71 — 153. Total 1015. Th'3 following team will compete against the Arawa Club's No. 1 team on Wednesday, August 26; W. Bates, C. L. Knight, J. Brownlie, R H. Reid, W. J. Gillett, L. N. Alexander, G. H. Weir, S. Walker, G. Yallop, L. Clarke. Reserves: Aubertin, Jones. The team's average is 153.9 per rifle and an interesting match is promised.' All ex-servicemen are invited to he present.
