Prince Hohenlohe Schillingfurst, speaking at Berlin on Franz Josef’s birthday, said B that the Anstro-Ger-man successes of 1915 justified the belief tfiat the war was ending, hut while they were eargerly watching the western offensive a new-thnnder-cloud burst with unforeseen violence in the East. The Russian bear was anything hut slaughtered and was pouring out an inexhaustible torrent of men equipped with the most modern weapons. Nevertheless they were reassured in the belief of an ultimate Anstro-German victory.
