Petrograd, Aug. 18. The Germans are using a new invisible gas. The only warning is a sickly sweet smell which causes dizziness. They are also using a simple magazine enabling a rifle to fire 25 shots without reloading. AN AUSTRIAN REPORT. London, Aug. 18. A Vienna communique says:Both--mer’a army engaged in fighting of the greatest violence on Wednesday between Prepelikni and Piedaki. The enemy for twelve hours uninterruptedly threw masses against us. Most of the assaults were broken before the entanglements. Wherever the enemy temporarily entered the trenches, as at Mauajov, they were driven out.
