OCCUPIED BULGAR POSITIONS. Received August 18, 2 p.m Salonika, August 17. A correspondent states that the French have occupied. Bulgarian positions south of Lake Doirau and established themselves in the neighbourhood of the village of Doldzeli, well within Serbian territory. DROWNING THE MONEY. DRINK ABSORBING WEALTH. COMMISSIONER APPEALS FOR MODERATION. London, August 17. The National War Saving Committee points out that the nation is spending 18:3 millions on drink and appeals for a reduction in view of the urgent need for economv. AMERICA’S SHARE IN THE WAR
LOANS TO BELLIGERENTS. New York, Aug. 17. Since the war foreign governments have raised 270 million sterling in the United Slates, of which 200,000, 000 has been for other belligerents and 110,000,000 for Britain.
