SEVERAL MORE DEATHS, Recorded. Per Press Association. Wellington, August 10, Three more deaths have occurred among the soldiers in Treutbam Camp since General Henderson's last statement regarding the liealth > of the troops. Whqn spinal meningitis was diagnosed in the case from the 19th Reinforcements the whole draft was moved from Trentham to Featherston.
There were twojmore meningitis cases from the Nineteenths snspeoted. One died to-day. The other patient is improving. Both moii were sent to the Hospital apparently suffering from influenza. Another Nineteenth man in p Company died to-day from diphtheria, which he must have contracted before entering the camp. Yesterday one of the Eighteenth Reinforcements succnmbed to pneumonia. He was apparently progressing favourably on Sunday, ont, as sometimes happens with this complaint, heart failure causen a collapse yesterday afternoon. The only troops at Trentbam are the Sixteenths, who live under canvas on a fresh camping site. The whole permanent ■ camp is being' thoroughly cleaned and disinfected
General. Henderson, when questioned regarding a number of wild rumours, declared that the antholi- - ties had kept nothing back; therefore it was wise to disbelieve any such reports. Official information was always, promptly given with the utmost frankness. ' , The death of Lieut. St. Hill, the f well known Hawke’s Bay resident, was the case reported in General Henderson’s week-end statement.
