Dunedin, Aug. '-9. There was a big yarding of fat cattle at Burnside to-day, 201 being penned. The quality was on the wholfr good. Competition was been, last week’s high prices being folly mantained. Extra prime heavy bollocks £52 os, best £2O to £22-10s, medium to good £l6 to £lB 15s, light £l2 to £ls, best cows and heifers £l4 10s to £l7, medium 40 good £2 10s, light and unfinished £B. Fat sheep—36oo penned. The quality on the whole was the hest brought forward for some time. The entry exceeded butchers’ requirements, and prices declined about Is 6d. Export buyers -secured a good many pens. Best wethers 35s to 37s (id, extra prime 42s 6d, medium to good 29s to 32a 6d, others 27s (id, best ewes 295, to 345, extra 40s, medium to good 24a to 27a, light and nnfinished|2os. Lambs—s 73 penned. The quality was onlv middiiug. There was a full attendance of export buyers and farmers. Last week’s prices were fully maintained. Best 24s to 265, extra 38,5, medium to good 21s Od to "235, others 20s. There was a large entry of pigs, and good competition for fats. Prices were about equal to last week’s rates.
