Official.—We achieved a great vici tory south of the Dniester, We broke the enemy’s front over sixteen miles and are astride the KolomeaStanislau railway, capturing heights beyond. The prisoners include 2000 Germans. Our pursuit continues. CONTINUATION OF SUCCESS. SEVERAL VILLAGES TAKEN. GAINS EXPRESSED IN KILOMETRES Petrograd, Aug. 8. A communique says: Successes southward of the Dneister continue. The Russians are pursuing the enemy We have , captured Nijniof, alsoOtynia, and five villages. The region captured covers 1(50 square kilometres. AN AUSTRIAN REPORT. London, August 8. An Austrian communique says: We progressed on the heights eastwar of Jablonitza, also near Worotha. The enemy penetrated our first line eastward of Thumacy, but were expelled. . Our- defence near Thumacy was transferred from a posiion to the westward owing io superior enemy forces an stubborn Russian attacks south - west of Torcyyn, a Volhynia bridgehead.
