CAVALRY IN TOUCH WITH TURKS
BATTLEFIELD BEING CLEARED. TURKISH DEAD BURIED. Received August 9, 10.30 a.m. London, August 8. An Egyptian official report states that our mounted troops are in contact with the Turkish rearguard six miles eastward of Katia, where the Turks have constructed trenches when they began the advance. We are clearing the battlefields and hurled two hundred Turks in the area of Friday’s counter attack. Aeroplanes bombed Port Said and Suez, but with little material damage and slight casualties. IMPERIAL PARLIAMENT. PROTECTION FOR CaTHOLIC SOLDIERS. London, Aug. 8. The House of Commons passed the Army Act Amendment.
