He said the Government was forging, a weapon of oppression and confiscation. The real authors of the Budget were the Labour Party. Mr Philip Snowden said that if the Budget were carried it would be a triumph for Free Trade, and the death-blow to Fiscal Reform. - Let the electors decide. He scoffed at the idea that capital would take wings and fly away, and vigorously defended the land clauses. The debate was adjourned.; Suffragettes placarded Mr Asquith’s bouse with copies of his portrait whiohSis being shown in the Academy with an inscription ‘‘Votes for Women.”
