INSURANCE OF FROZEN MEAT.

United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph,—Copyright. London, June 4.

The principal underwriters for insuring Australian produce, requested Mr Oogb.lan to make repre • sentation to the Australian Government regarding the unsatisfactory manner of handling frozen meat in Australia. The underwriters intimate that unless the Government enforces better handling they will be compelled to discontinue [underwriting altogether or raise the rates to such an extent as to make business impossible. They suggest compulsory inspection at the ship’s side and insulated conveyances between the freezing works and the ships, as is done in New||Zealnnd."
