SHOOING.
At Wanganui yesterday the fifth annual competition took place for the Battalion Shield. Eight teams entered and some good shooting was done. The Shield was won. by Palmerston North Rifles with a score of 919. Wanganui Rifles were second with 871. and the other scores were Wanganui Guards 869, Manchester Rifles 854, Palmerston North Guards 851, Highland Rifles 840, Royal Rifles 831, Irish Rifles 674.
