The concßit to bo held on Thursday ereuiug io the Opera House, Marton, will undoubtedly be a grpat success. People from Bulls, Turakina and pnnterville and the Main Trunk line are expected to be present as the Wanganui Band is a great favourite with Rangitibei residents. The .Wanganui Band will come by the eVeniug train and return by the late train the same evening, which has ' been delayed an hour. The “Marton Band will march and play through the main streets to the Opera House. The Band Committee are doing all in their power to make the concert arrangements complete. Tickets are being sold by the Band, and' a box plan is opened at Messrs Mngridge & Son’s. Everything so far is very-satisfactory. Miss Amy Remington, that eminent young pianist who has lately shone out as a “star” in Wellington, will gii’e one of her best items.

Mr Manning, of Auckland, son of Mr Manning, butcher, of Marton, is passing through to-day to sing at.the Wanganui Leidert&fel concert this evening. The Band Committee are arranging for him to stay to-morrow ’night to give an item at the local concert. Mr Manning is Auckland’s best baritone singer, and his contri-. bution will greatiy enhance an already choice programme.
