BULLS DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL.
The monthly meeting of the committee was heW on Monday evening. Present: Rev. E Evans (chairman), Messrs W. MoNiokle, E. J. McDermott, J. E. Walker and T. King. An apology for the absence of Mr R. R. Hutcheson was received.
Correspondence was read from— Education Board agreeing to lease three acres of land adjoining the school for a horse paddock for ten years, at a yearly rental of £4 10s,. provided the Committee erects the fence.
Prom same, intimating that insurance against accidents to caretakers would be undertaken by the Board. The Committee appointed to obtain subscriptions towards cost of fencing horse paddock reported-that £l7 had been promised, of which had been received. f A vote of thanks was accorded the Canvassing Committee, and it was decided to apply to the Education Board for a subsidy on the amount, and to proceed with the erection of the fence as soon as possible. The headmaster’s report showed number of pupils on roll 143,.- and average attendance 129. It was decided to instruct the Ranger to impound all cattle found wandering on the school glands in fntnre.
A committee consisting of the chairman, Messrs MoNiokle . and King was appointed to confer with the headmaster and local {[director with regard to the apportionment of caretaker’s salary, as between the High and Technical Schools. . Accounts for current expenses were passed for payment. I , The secretary was requested to apply to the Board for a small stove for heating the room occupied by secondary pupils. Messrs McDermott and King were appointed a visiting committee for ensuing month.
