FEILDING MATCHES
The Feilding footballers were very successful on Saturday. The Feilding fourths against the Palmerston Old Bov fourths ran up a score of 35 to nil on the Racecourse ground. The interest of the day, however, was in the match, Kia Tea seniors against Feilding, on the same ground. Kia Toa won the toss and obtained a decided advantage with the wind in their favour and the sun in the eyes of their opponents. Play was consequently rather in their favour in the first spell, though they only obtained a goal from a penalty kick to a try by Feilding. The Feilding forwards were .very quick after the ball, and one of the players was frequently off-side, with the result of free kicks for the Palmerston players. The latter failed to gain much advantage from them except in the case mentioned. The Kia Toa players were much better at passing than the Feilding men, hut the energy and the dash of the latter more, than counterbalanced the exercise of that art. In the second spell, Fraser, who had been so severely handled in the first spell that he had to be helped off the field, was again hurt, and in the opinion of the crowd, who hooted most energetically, the Palmerston player deliberately kicked him, and there wore, cries of “put him off the ground.” After a short time, however, Fraser was able to continue playing, and when the game ended Feilding had scored 9 to 3, the result of two tries and a goal kicked Ifrom a penalty. Feilding was as fortunate in the services of its full-back, Hughes, as the Kia Toa in McMinn. HIBERNIANS v. OLD BOY'S. From Oqr Own Correspondent. Old Boys lost the toss and had to play against sun and wind. The greens had the advantage and Gasson secured a try, though tackled on the line by Tinsley. The kick failed. In spite of great efforts on the part of the Old Boys no farther score was added, and the game ended Hibernians 3, Old Boys nil.

The junior match Old Boys v. Huias resulted in a win for the former by 6 points to 5. Mr Parton acted as referee. The winners played some men short and had a disadvantage of weight.
