RONGOTEA.

Prom Our Own Correspondent

The annual'anniversary tea meeting was held in connection with the Wesleyan Methodist Church at Rongotea, on Tuesday evening. May 4tb, when there was a good attendance. The tables were bountifully laden with all good things to please the most fastidious, provided by the ladies, who are to be congratulated on| the success of the gathering. After the tea the services were continued, the Church being crowded. The ‘speakers were the Revs. Beecroft, Isitt and Frost. An opportunity was taken of the gathering to introduce the f?Rev. F. Frost, the newly appointed minister for Rongotea, who was warmly received. Mr F. Frost suitably responded. Mr Gifford was in the chair. Special anthems were rendered by a strong choir, the principal solos being taken by Mias Lewis. In *the absence of the secretary the balance-sheet was read by Mr J. Bleakly. After the Benediction the meeting closed. A very enjoyable gathering took place at the vicarage on. Tuesday night, May 4th, when the scholars of the Sunday School were entertained by the vicar, Rev. H. F. Wilson, and Miss Wilson. During the evening magic lantern pictures were shown, greatly to the delight of she little people, and all sorts of inaoor games were indulged in. Supper Was served, after which a start was made for home, all having spent a very happy time. y i
