Received May 8, 8.50 a.m. New York, May 2. : Some Italians living in a tenement house in New York, occupied by 20 Italian families, refused the Black Hand Society’s demands for a thousand dollars. The Black Hands thereupon fired the house, and eight people were burnt to death, including five children.
