In consequence of British and Russian representations, the Shah has'granted a week’s armistice at Tabriz to prevent the hungerstricken elements from attacking the Consulates. The armistice had such a good effect locally that the order given at Sir Edward Gref’s instance for the Russian force to occupy Tabriz has been suspended. Baskeville, the American missionary, was killed before the armistice In a Nationalists’ sortie to seize the enemy’s bread. DESPERATE FIGHTING. Received April 22, 8.45 a.m. Teheran, April 21. Despsrate fighting took place in the suburbs of Tabriz. The Nationalists have already lost 60 killed'.
