MANAWATU A. & P. ASSOCIATION.

The ordinary meeting of the A. & P. Association was held yesterday. Mr S. R. Lancaster presiding. There was a good attendance of members. Correspondence was received : From the Seoretarv of the Auckland A. , & P Association, stating that the matter of the North Island Conference of Societies wcnld receive their earlv con {deration.—Received,

From the Secretary of the Feilding A. & P. Association forwarding accounts totalling £l2 Is in connection with the rescent visit to Momahaki State Farm,—Major Dnnk was of the opinion that unless some definite arrangement had been made each of those who attended shonld pay his own expenses.—lt was resolved to pay half the loss on the trip.

From Levin & 00., Ltd., stating that they would present another silver onp on condition that it be allotted to some competition in liomney sheep.—Referred to the Sheep Schedule Committee.

From the Philosophical Society, offering two prizes of £8 3s each for the best collection of botanical and entomological specimens for the next Spring Show.—Received with thanks.

The resignations from the membership list of Messrs O. W. Bear, J. F. Heckler and A, Allan were received.

Messrs T. Pitt and and R. Moore were elected members, and Messrs E. J.' Collins and O. S. Collins associate members.

The Dairy Show Committee reported that It had been decided to recommend that no action be taken in regard to the matter of affiliating with the North Island Poultry Association. —Adopted. The question of ringing yearling bulls was discussed, Mr Levett thought it should be optional whether they were led by a, ring or barnacles. Mr MoHardy favoured ringing them. He held that unless they were rung something would happen. Mr Wheeler held that the yearling bulls shonld not be ruhg. He moved that they be exempt from ringing. The motion was lost, and it was resolved that they be rung in accordance with th&|committee’s report.

Mr Lancaster moved that six*ladies tickets be issued to each member, but after some discussion the question was adjourned till next meeting.
