Several suggestions have been made that the wheat duty in America he ablolished, arid a Tariff Bill has been proposed which will increase it to 30 cants per bushel. Mr Patten has replied that such an abolition would be osvithout effect, because the world’s markets.are how on a parity with America’s, and will require to import corn, oats, and live stock before long.
Mr Patten declares that Mr Wilson’s [estimates [of the wheat on farms is 50 per cent, too high.
