WEDDING.

A very pretty wedding took place in Ohingaiti on Wednesday last, the contracting parties being Miss Stella Bushel Mary Maish and Mr Fred Davidson, of Te Kuili. The ceremony took place in the Presbyterian Church, Ohingaiti, the Rev. Wall, of Huuterville, being the officiating minister. The bride was [given away by her grandfather, Mr John Gower, and was attended by Miss Elsie Coyle and Miss Davidson (bridegroom’s sister). The bridegroom was assisted by his brother and Mr Claude Meads (a cousin of the bride) as best men. The bride wore a beautiful white silk Empire gown with the nsnal veil and orange blossoms, and carried a beautiful bouquet of lycopodium and white chrysanthemums. After the ceremony the company sat down to breakfast at the residence of the bride’s uncle (Mr R. A. Gower). The Rev. Wall, in an appropriate speech, proposed the health of the bride and bridegroom, which was nicely responded to by the bridegroom. The best man proposed the bridesmaids and one or two other speeches. The couple left to prepare for their bridal tour, and at the train time were accompanied to the station and left amid showers of rice and good wishes. The presents were indeed very numerous and very pretty as well as being all costly. After a short bridal trip, the happy couple will reside on their farm at Te Kuiti.
