After a stormy meeting, MrThyer, President of the Labour Council, resigned owing to the carrying of a resolution that it was inconsistent for the President to accept a seat on the Wages Board under the Industrial Disputes Act. The Council had previously condemned the Act. The Council adopted a resolution in favour of limiting the week’s work to 44 hours,
