CAPTURE OF A FRENCH PRISON

Taking advantage of the holidays, the convicts in the Gaillou Prison, where desperate convicts are confined, seized the gaol and forced the warders under threat of wrecking the prison to serve sonp, wine and tobacco. Next day troops'with fixed bayonets compelled the convicts to surrender, bnt sixteen escaped into the woods. Nine are still at liberty.
