SHOT ON THE STAGE.
Berlin, February 25. Adolphus Stnenkel, a popular actor, accidentally shot {himeeif on the stage in the Luisen Theatre her* this evening during a performance of the melodrama “An Erring Woman.” In the first act the husband’s role, played by Stnenkel, is to attempt suicide'when he learns that his wife has deceived him. Stnenkel (pressed his revolver to his forehead as nsnal, and palled the trigger, when he fall headlong to the stage, bleeding profusely. The horrified audience realised that a real tragedy had been enacted before their eyes. Owing, to a blander of a stage employee, Snenkel bad been provided with a loaded revolver, instead of one unloaded, and was ignorant 'of the mistake when he fired. Fortunately, the ballet, instead of entering fcis head, only oat the forehead, but inflicted a serious wound, from which, however, he is expected to recover.
