The Canterbury Jockey Club’s autumn meeting was concluded at Riccarton to-day in dull weather. The totalisator investments amounted to £14,785, an increase of £2337, while ’ bookmakers’ fees totalled £384 10s. All jockeys wore crape as a mark of respect to the memory of W. O’Connell, who died this morning as a result of injuries received from a fall in the Kildare Hurdles yesterday. Results: — Peterswick Hurdles.—Southern Cross 1, Leonardo 3, Ability 3. Won easily. Easter Handicap, miles.— Waipaku 1, Golden Gate 3, Flingot 8. All started. Waipaku, Mahuta, and Tangimoana led past the stand and kept the same order until enter? ing the straight, where Golden Gate overtook Tangimoana and Mahuta, but could not reach the winner, who won easily by one and a half lengths. Time, 2miu 9seo. Rewa Hack Handicap, 6 furlongs— Dervish 1, Nyland 3, Singer 8. Scratched: Guiding Step, Nyland led to the distance followed by Dervish, when the latter came on and won by a length.
