RIOGARTON TRAINING NOTES. Per Press Association. Christchurch, April 10. It was a dull morning for training operations at Riccarton. The tracks were in good order, and most of the work was done on the plough. Broadsword, ran els Inrlviigs. Gleuculloch did leu fcrlongs inSoiin llsec Plitaway went a good liva furlongs. Chief Lochlel and Harvess galloped a mile in Imin 45seo. Thistledown went half a mile in 49sec. Whistleoraft was better than Orsino over a mile in Imin 44seo. Tikitere had the best of Osiris over ten furlongs in 2min ISsec. Petrovna ran half a mile in sOseo. Bollin was better than Diamond Star over a mile in Imln 44sec. Lady Disdain ran 7 furlongs in limn 30seo. Contender and Tremulous were abreast at the end of half a mile in 49sec. After breakfast Provocation ran four furlongs in 49seo Bon tade and Freak finished together over half a mile in 52seo. Czar Kolohol did 7 furlongs in Imin 30seo. All Guns and .Oymbrifcrm did a mile on the grass in Imtc 44seo. Tumut and Consolattion w«re abreast at the end of six furlongs in Imin 15sec. Valdimar ran five furlongs from a standing start in Imin 3seo. Other horses were given useful gallops. A.R.O. MEETING. FIRST DAY. Auckland, April 10 For the opening day of the A.R.C. Autumn Meeting to-day the course is a trifle holding, and there is a good attendance, but the weather is threatening. Results:— Tradesman’s Handicap, miles.—Ohantense 1, Delegate 2, Dunborve 3. Scratched : Carl Rosa, Advocate. Bully, Necktie, Freevata and Lycia. Delegate led to within a short distance of the post, where Ohantense got up and won by half a head. Time, 2min 12seo. * Brighton Hurdles, 2 miles.— Ben Jousou 1, Te Aral 3, Okaihau 3. Scratched : Paritntn, Cuiragno and Mozart. Won easily by two lengths. Time, 3min Sisco.
