- STOCK REPORT. Loan & Mercantile report:—At Apiti. on Tuesday, a medium entry of sheep and cattle came forward. Bidding was not brisk, although a fair amonht of business was done under the hammer. Quotations: — Sheep, 2 tooth wethers 8s 3d, ewe lambs 7s 10d to 8s Bd, mixed lambs 5s 9d. Cattle, wesners 11s, 15s, 3 year steers £2 Bs, £2 9s. 18 months steers 3os, forward cows £2 15s 6d, £3 ii. £3 ICa 6d, bulls 22s ttd to £3. Messrs Abraham & Williams report :—At Feilding yesterday we had a small yarding of both sheep and cattle. Prices were not as good as last week. We quote :—Fat wethers 10a 6d to I Is, aged ewes ss, 6s to 6s lOd ; cull ewes la 9d, light cow beef £3 19s to £4 3s 6d, bulls £2. WOOL, SKIN & HIDE SALE. Messrs Abraham & Williams, Ltd., report having held their monthly wool, skin and hide sale yesterday. Boyers were well represented, but bidding was quiet In several lines of cow hides the owners were asking too much, consequently the lines were passed. The balance of the catalogue was sold as follows: Wool: Locks to crutchlnes to lambs 51 to 63£d, dead 4d to sd, crossbred fle f ce 5d to 6d. Skins : Quarter to half wools 4%d to full wool ad, dead 23£d to 43-2 d. bare pelts 2%d to damaged skins 2%d to 33£d, half at par piece 2s 8d to 3s 4d, salted 3s, salted lambs Is Gd. Two crossbred skins weighing 251bs each sold at 5i per lb, equal to 10s 8d each. Hides: Ox 5%d, cow heavy to 53£d. medium 4%d to ss, light 43£d to 4%d, bulls 43£d, stags best calf to 73^d, other to yearling 4%d to s>fjd. Sundries: Tallow, tins 19s 3d per owt; casks 21s 9d per cwt; oowtalls Is per dozen.
Messrs Dalgety & Co , Ltd., report:—We held our usual monthly sale of wool, skins, hides, etc., on Friday, 2nd April, when a foil catalogue of all classes was offered to the usual attendance of buyers. Wool: Prices were on a par with last sale rates. Crossbred 6d to crossbred logstained aud inferior 4%d to 5%d, lambs wool from 6d to 6%d. inferior 4*4d to s*4d, dead wool from 4d to 4%d, crntchings to 4d. Bellies and pieces from 3££d to lochs and pieces clean lots from 3d to 3%d, dirty lots I*4 d to Sheepskins: These sold well at a light decline on last sale rates. Crossbred wioolly to 5%d, quarter to half wools 4%d to quarter wools 4%d to 4>£d, pelts to 4d, lambs 4-%d to o££d, dead to 4>£d, inferior and damaged from to butchers pelts at each from 2s 6d, 2s Bd, 2s 9d, 2s lid, 3s id to 3s 3d ; lambs shorn at each |is od to Is 9d, salted pelts at each 2s 2d, salted quarter to half wool pelts at each from 2a 6d, 2s Bd, 2s lOd to 3s 3d; salted full wool to 4s 6d, salted lambs from Is 9d to '2s 7d. Hides: In sympathy with other markets hides of all classes declined from %d to per lb on the extreme rates ruling at last sale. Ox heavy to 5d to 5%d, steers to 4%d, cows hist lots 5d to s*4d, good and medium lots 4%d to 4%d, yearlings to bulla to 3d, out and slippy hides aud gslippy to Tallow, eto., iu tins to J9s, in ''asks to 225, In drums 16s.
