RARGIWAHIA.
Onr annual sports were held in the Domain on St. Patrick’s Day, the weather, although dull and showery until 10 o’clock, cleared up, and buggy loads of pleasureaeeekgrs attended in hundreds. A very large programme was gone through s under the able supervision of Mr A. W. O’Dwyer and Mr E, Hyde, our worthy secretary'. The result of each event has already been published. Too much praise cannot he given to Mr Robert Oraig for the attentive manner in which he con-: 'ducted the Flower Show. The exhibits were very fine and numerous. Messrs McLean Bros. ’ bnokjmping show was also on the grounds and had many onlookers. At the concert in the evening, Mr D. H. Guthrie, our member-presided. Many musical items were rendered. Mr J. Aikman played the bagpipes, Miss Levigne danced the Highland Fling, ai beautiful bouquet was thrown on the stage and she was encored to the echo. After Mr Guthrie had handed out the trophies won during the day the concert was proceeded with, and at 10.15 p.m. the fleer was cleared for dancing, and a very enjoyable time was spent Mr S. Daw’s band was in attendance during the day. The school children _ danced the May poled ance s under Miss Mahoney s supervision and altogether the sports were a.crowning success. Many fine dresses were noticeable amongst the fair sex, and it is pleasing to think that the weather was everything to be desired.
