IN BANKRUPTCY.
A meeting of creditors of J. M. Orouoher, cabinetmaker, Balls, was held in the Courthouse, Bulls, yesterday, before Mr G. J. Scott, D.O.A. The following creditors were Present: Messrs W. J. Orouoher. Walker, Hutcheson, Stephenson, J. Howell (for Jones & McGregor), and D. Wilson (for Dahl & Co). Amount of unsecured creditors, stock in trade, £100; book debts, £lls 13s 7d, esttimated to produce £80; tools, £2O; total assets, £200; deficiency, £IBO 18s sd. STATEMENT OP BANKRUPT. I started a cabinetmaking business in Bulla, in October, 1904, without any capital. My brother-advanced me £SO to meet debts incurred during the first three months. My business supported itself for the following two years and since then baa hcon gradually going down. I refrained from putting my position before my creditors earlier, as I anticipated further from my brother, who eventually made a proposition to my creditors which was not accepted. I was therefore compelled to file a petition in bankruptcy. I have no wish to defrand my creditors and lam prepared to accept an engagement from any creditor in my own line of businessgiving him power to deduct a fair percentage of my earnings to he distributed among my creditors until such time as their claims are satisfied. I have no other suggestion to offer but will gladly embrace any opportunity that will allow me to restore my good name. It was proposed by Mr Wilson, seconded by Mr Walker, that the bankrupt must make an application to obtain bis discharge at the sitting of the District Court at Palmerston North, in August. In the meantime the bankrupt to do what he can and pay in what he can to the D.O.A. towards a dividend. _ t It was also proposed by Mr W. J. Orouoher, “That the disposal of the stock he left in the hands of Messrs Walker and McGregor, and that they report to the D.O.A. on or before 3rd April, 1909.
