United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Melbourne, March. 15. The Rev. P. J. Murdoch, clerir of the South Melbourne Presbytery, has been committed to prison for contempt of Court in refusing to produce a copy of a lettei£sent by the Presbytery to the defendant in the action £Rev. Mr Ronald v. Robert Harper, a member of the House of Representatives. The Rev. P. J. Murdoch insisted that he had sworn, to keep all documents of the Presbytery and could not give them without the Presbytery’s authority. THE MARTYR RELEASED. Received March 16, 9.45 a.m. Melbourne, March 16. A meeting of the Presbytery commended the Rev. J. Murdoch’s action and authorised him to produce the letter.
