After running off a tie with Eastown Railway for fifth and sixth places for the Shield points Dnnedin broke the New Zealand record, putting up a grand run in 31 4-sseo. Hose hydrant and union, five men.—Fitzroy,'.29 S-saeo., 1; Wanganui, 31 3-ssec., 2 ; Doueclin South, 31 3-ssec., 3; Eastown Railway and Hillside Railway, 32secs . dead heat, 4. Eastown won the run;} off. Masterton, 33 l-sseo.i was sixth,J Hose and hydrant, three men.— Oaversham, 31 1 ssec , 1 ; Dunedin. South and Napier, 31 3-ssece., dead heat' 2; Hillside Railway, 23 1- 4. Auckland City and Lyttelton tied for fifth place in 23 2- Dnnedin South beat Napier in the run-off for second place. Ladder Race, one man.—Auckland City, Bsec., and Masterton. 6aec., dead heat for first place. To he run off to-morrow. Eltham, Dnnedin City, Ashbuton, Greymonth, Wanganui and Spit (8 l-sseo.) dead heat, to run off for third and fourth places to-morrow. The points for the shields being competed lor by the brigades at the Fire Brigades* Demonstration a^e Speight Shield for manual events (completed).—Napier. 21 points, 1; /Timaru, 15, 3; Hawera, 14, 3. Hastings with 8 points was fourth, and Ashburton and Geraldine had 4’poiuts each. Manual Shield.—The following are the leading teams: Timaru 23 points, Napier 31, Hawera 1.4. High Pressure Shield. —Masterton are leading with 26 points, Auckland City are second with 17, and f Fltzroy and Dnnedin South equal for third with 16 points each.
