HEADMASTERS’ ASSOCIATION.
A PROTEST AGAIN DISPLAYS.
Per Press Association. Wellington, March 13. The Headmasters’ Association hasadopted a report protesting against the uses to which primary schools have been pat for display purposes. The report submits that teachers have been overworked by extra tasks which have no proper place In the right education of youth and some of the duties imposed on teachers on the occasions of demonstrations are repugnant. The report concludes—“As the practical outcome of the Association’s deliberations it is hoped that local bodies, Government, Education Boards, and entertaining committees on public occasions will cease making Demands as a mere matter of :course on pupils of public schools. Teachers should be free to withhold their assistance according as occasion commends itself to them or 'not. No woman should be expected at any time to undertake school duties outside the school grounds by way of spectacular dis plays. ’ ’
