FEILDING HORTICULTURAL SHOW.
The antamn show of the Society was held yesterday with the pleasing results of indicating a considerable increase in the pot plant and vegetable exhibits and more taste displayed in the decorative classes by the exhibitors. The pot plants, were good throughout and there was fair competition. Of foliage begonias, for instance, theie were no less than seven entries. The vegetable classes were well filled and the exhibits a credit to the exhibitors. There were not many entries of fruit, but of excellent quality. Mr A. R. Mayo put in a splendid Ipt of fruit for exhibition only, consisting of pears, apples and peaches. In the cut flowers, the dahlias shown by F. Mason were' conspicuously good, and also the sweet peas put in by Miss Easther. Mrs Hailiday and Mrs Porter, judges in bouquets and floral devices, were highly pleased at the taste displayed by many of the exhibitors, particularly by Mrs Barton in a basket of flowers, Miss Sloane in bridal shower bouquet. Miss Oobbe in hand bouquet, Mrs Miles in bowl of flowers. Miss Holden tall vase and the trimmed hat by Miss Saywell. The latter was trimmed with leaves red and green flowers with a bunch of grass in ear for a feather. There was another entry in this class that well deserved a prize. Miss Richardson and Mis A. Morton’s buttonholes were prettily arranged. Thi cookery exhibits were small in number. There were many nice exhibits in the children’s class and the show as a whole a one.
