United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received March 12, 10.35 a.m.‘ London, March, 11. Wool had a spirited sale. There is a general hardening tendency. Puketotara sold at Clyde at Messrs Murray, Roberts & Co. have received the following cablegram from their London agents, Messrs Sanderson, Murray & Co., dated March 9th, 1909: —The sales have opened with a large attendance of buyers and brisk competition. Compared with the closing rates of last sales, Merino shows 5 per cent, advance, and crossbred par to 5 per cent, advance, inferior descriptions of crossbred showing the greatest advance.
